Ms. Rodriguez from Orlando FL is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a paper storage center, paintbrushes, a math chart kit, and 21 math journals.

"Go down deep enough into anything and you will find mathematics" ~ Dean Schlicter. My student see math around them everyday, but they need to be able to practice it and apply it on a daily basis.
I have 19 very bright and enthusiastic students in my class.
My students are active learners who come to school ready to grasp all the information they can. I work in a high poverty school in Florida with a high enrollment of ESOL students who speak Haitian-Creole as their first language. Most of my students do not have the experiences, materials, or support that most of other children do. I am trying very hard to provide a creative and learning rich environment in our classroom so that my students can succeed and reach their highest potential.
The Daily Math Journals requested will be an excellent way to start our day and warm up our brain! The journals focus on number sense, data analysis, geometry, algebra, measurement, and probability. Working in these journals will be extremely beneficial for my ESL kids who can practice reading and depend on pictures to help them comprehend. These journals will strengthen my students skills, allowing them to understand and apply basic mathematical concepts necessary for higher learning. The paper storage center will help us organize our construction paper that we use to create math foldables, patterns, geometric designs, and other math related crafts. The paintbrushes will be used to infuse art into math for enrichment purposes. My students enjoy infusing art into math! The Question of the Day Chart will allow students to further work on math skills and reading abilities as well! This chart will also allow our class to get to know each other better through answering the questions.
Donations to this project will be greatly appreciated because every cent will go towards changing the life of a child.
A child's formative years are the most important. I am trying to instill a love of learning and inspire my children to dream big and believe that they can be successful and overcome the obstacles they have in their lives. Our children are our future and investing in our children in the greatest investment we can make.
