I teach middle school mathematics in a Title I school. This means the majority of my students come from low-income families. Many of my students look forward to attending school each day because they long for the structure a school day provides.
In my sixth math grade classroom, I strive to teach my students the skills they will need to become productive citizens of the 21st century.
This endeavor begins with having the tools I need to impart the knowledge my students must possess for success.
The materials I am requesting will aid my students in completing everyday tasks in my middle school math classroom. During the first four months of school students used every pencil I bought and all of the pencils that were donated. The portable while boards they use on a daily basis are also aging; many are difficult to erase and are beginning to crack. Furthermore the pencil sharpener used to sharpen all the now defunct pencils is no longer working.
As previously stated, the materials I am requesting are used daily by the middle schoolers I teach!
They are vital in the education process. It would be a tremendous help if they could have new materials to finish out the school year as strong as the way we began this school year.
