My students need math materials such as the hundreds number board, number frames, base ten frame and base ten magnets. These will help to keep the learning exciting and differentiate for a variety of skill levels.
My kindergarten students are a delightful, curious and energetic group of learners. My students come to school with a variety of skill levels. They are eager to learn and try their best.
My students enjoy being able to select engaging, developmentally appropriate books to read by themselves.
They also love to be able to select challenging work to complete during our daily Math and Literacy Tray Times. In creating an environment for learning in our classroom, I want to ensure children have an interesting variety of work to use as they learn and their interests change. My students like to do work in which they can learn by manipulating fun materials, not simply writing on paper.
My Project
My students will benefit from having engaging, new math materials such as the hundreds number board, base ten frames and base ten magnets. These materials will help to keep the learning exciting, as well as allow me to differentiate for a variety of skill levels. This work will allow my more advanced students to work on place value and regrouping. The plastic number frames will help support my students who are still developing numbers to 20. During math tray time and small group work, students require materials that are at their level, in order to learn and develop their skills.
