My students are in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. They are young and energetic. They enjoy play-based learning, hands-on activities and interactive lessons. They love, love, love to move! In fact, most of them learn best through movement. They spend part of their day in my special education classroom and the rest of the day in class with their peers. In my room, I strive to provide my young learners with engaging instruction in a comfortable, fun environment. I want them to enjoy learning, feel good about themselves, and reach their full academic potential.
My Project
Math is a subject that can be quite challenging for many of my students. Math can also be engaging and fun when it is taught in the right way. My students learn math concepts best when they can get actively involved. Math games, manipulatives, and hands-on activities all help my students gain math skills and understand concepts.
The materials included in this project will allow me to give my students the tools they need to fully understand and master a variety of math concepts.
The shape and design building kits will allow my students to demonstrate their understanding of two and three dimensional shapes in engaging, hands-on ways. The number sequencing trains and polka dot math game will help my students build understanding of numbers and counting. The number lines and brick building kits will help my students build their computation and problem solving skills.
