Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is a group of 350 students from different academic, social, and cultural backgrounds in a year-round public school. This is a group of fantastic kindergartners eager to explore math through hands-on experiments. I want to foster their curiosity and critical thinking through this project!
This project will reach students in grades K-2 igniting their curiosity and critical thinking in math and science class.
I want to enrichment their learning experiences in math and science classes through hands-on experiments! We will be exploring the concepts of spatial organization, adding and subtracting skills, and introduction to coding skills.
Using this kit will improve students ability to learn spatial organization and orientation through real-world problems. We will also work on collaboration as students will be challenged to create their own learning teams and solve problems using beginning computer skills.
My Project
The race is on to build hands-on coding skills! Students will build their own mazes to solve math problems involving addition and subtraction. This coding set for kids turns coding into a hands-on analog activity for tactile and visual learners. Colby lights up, makes sounds, and features two speeds along with colorful buttons to match coding cards for easy programming and sequencing. This coding set includes 16 maze grids, 22 maze walls, 3 tunnels, 30 double-sided coding cards, 10 double-sided activity cards, cheese wedge, and activity guide to provide a hands-on introduction to coding concepts. As students learn to program, they build key skills that include critical thinking, problem solving, sequencing, and programming fundamentals. Students will create mazes using addition and subtraction concepts to program a robot.
