Hooray! This project is fully funded

I teach 11 delightful special education students, ages 8-11. They live with varying degrees of mental retardation and emotional disturbances, but are so eager to learn! Math is one of their favorite subjects, but unfortunately, we don't have a lot of math games for them to play, and worksheets get boring. I know with some games to play, they can learn math and become math masters! While they may be special education students, they want to learn and succeed. Learning math will help them to be able to go out into their community and be productive citizens. Math is so essential to living in our world, and these games will help the students learn math so that they can live and function independently as they grow. Hands-on learning through manipulatives such as the Cuisinaire Rods or the Lego math game will help to solidify their learning, taking it from concepts on a piece of paper or the chalk board to something they can touch and see in three dimensions, something which will help their learning in leaps and bounds. The frog number game will help my younger students and those weaker in math solidify their skills so that they can progress to the next level. I'm excited about the possibilities for my students and would love for you to be a part of their dreams!
