Our students are some of the most kind, loving, and generous students you will meet. Our school is a welcoming diverse community-based, neighborhood school serving wonderful students and their families. We are a Title I school and our staff and students take pride in our diversity and community support. Our staff is dedicated to the continuing academic success and the social and emotional growth of all students. In addition to that, these students deal with many issues at home. They overcome poverty, language barriers, and cultural barriers on a daily basis. As a school community, the staff does all it can to support our students and show them the love they deserve.
My Project
Math manipulatives are fun to use and make learning enjoyable. These materials are visual aids that will enhance student engagement. They motivate students to work on problem solving skills and show students ways of thinking. Math manipulatives offer choices for visual and tactile learning styles to enhance retention. These manipulatives give students more choices to increase understanding of math. Working with these manipulatives will increase vocabulary as students learn to use them and explain their thinking. These teaching tools are hands-on learning to bridge concrete and abstract topics of learning.
