Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
George Evans once said, "Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way." Our small school believes that every student is capable of success, no matter what, and strives to help every student become the best version of themselves.
My class consists of 24 innovative, creative, and imaginative students.
Within that group of 24, 2 are English language learners, 5 receive speech services, 1 is autistic, and 3 receive resource services. We are an eclectic group but we love to learn! We strive every day to be the best readers, mathematicians, scientists, inventors, and overall students we can be.
My Project
These VersaTiles will be used daily during our math work stations. I have some students that are gifted in math and visual-spatial that would greatly benefit from a work station that is beyond the normal grade-level curriculum.
These math manipulatives will be used daily during our math work stations.
They will also double to supplement the first-grade small group collection of VersaTiles that I already have. Math manipulatives are such a powerful tool to have while teaching younger students. Not only can they visual math they will be engaged with something hands-on. The hands-on aspect of math manipulatives will do wonders for all my students.
