Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our fifth-grade students are full of fun and are excited to come to school every day. Our school is a Title One, small, low-income school in our amazing district. It has been inevitable for me to put my whole heart into teaching as my students are all so full of enthusiasm for school. They all have such beautiful, creative hearts that are eager to please and to be praised.
Many of my students come to me with special needs or circumstances and I feel so blessed to have them in my classroom and eager to learn!
I want my classroom and our school to be that safe place for those students who need it. In my classroom, they will get a great education while they create memories that they will carry with them through the years.
My Project
My students are full of the love of learning! They are exceptionally thrilled during our Math lessons. As they enter the 5th grade, Math becomes much more complex and requires a deeper understanding of the concepts beyond the algorithms.
In order to meet the needs of my students as they move forward into middle school, new math manipulatives are very important in my classrooms.
Our current whiteboards are broken down and cracked from years of hard work. They also do not have the coordinate grids that are on these newly requested whiteboards. These would be so helpful for my students to practice our new 5th grade standards. In addition to this are the blank fraction tiles, which will help my students develop conceptual understanding when adding, subtracting, and multiplying fractions!
