Math Manipulatives to Build Mathematicians

Help me give my students use dice, cards and math games to practice addition and subtraction.

My Students

My 2nd grade classroom is made up of diverse students. In my classroom you will find students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. I have students who live in poverty and students who come from middle class working families. Many of my students speak English at school and another language at home.

My students are curious and eager to learn.

They do not let their situations in life stifle their desire to learn. I have a wonderful class of students.

My Project

The students in my class love to learn through games. Too many students spend too much time infront of screens. I want implement math game boxes to allow students to practice skills learned in the classroom. Game boxes will allow students to have a quick, fun way to practice.

2nd Graders learn using hands-on manipulatives.

Math games are a great way for students to practice math while having fun.

Many of my students still struggle with basic number sense.

This project will allow me to make math game kits for each of my students. Students will use dice, cards, and games to practice basic numbersense.
