My Students

I am a special education teacher at our amazing elementary school in a small city just north of Indianapolis. I am requesting funding for math manipulatives for two different math groups I teach each day. The third and fourth groups consist of students with and without special needs. My small math groups need opportunities to delve into math in a more tactile way.

Students benefit from hands-on learning to solve various math problems.

When they can see, feel and manipulate the pieces, they have a better chance of retaining the information.

I am requesting math manipulatives for place value, money, fractions and decimals to allow students the opportunity for hands-on learning.

My Project

I am requesting various math hands-on teaching kits about fractions, money and place value to better serve my students. Math is challenging for most of my students. I try to make learning math fun and engaging. The hands-on kits will help me engage the students at a higher level and provide them with a better understanding of the math concepts.

By donating to my project, you will be helping to improve student interest in math and increase their math knowledge.
