My students need one set of eight Early Math Instant Learning Centers and two containers of math counters to reinforce math concepts.
This project expired on September 23, 2010.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Do you remember learning math in first grade? I remember using beans as counters. By helping to provide these these math materials, you will be giving my students a fun and exciting way to learn to count and internalize early math concepts.
I teach a class of 22 energetic students at a rural, high poverty school in Washington State.
We have a high population of bi-lingual and migrant students. For these students, math seems to be more universal in language, unlike reading. When given the appropriate materials, these students are able to understand and internalize the early math concepts being taught.
The materials being requested will allow my students to understand and work further with several early math activities such as graphing, sorting, patterning, estimation and simple addition. These well organized, colorful activities will help capture my students attention, allowing them to master essential math skills.
Do you remember learning to count and add using beans in first grade?
By helping make this project a reality, you will give my students a fun and exciting way to learn the early math concepts being taught at the beginning of first grade. You can make a wonderful difference in the lives of my students!
