My classroom is made up of students who have multiple disabilities. Students assigned to my classroom require adaptive equipment to accommodate their special needs.
My students respond best when presented with multisensory learning activities.
The use of learning materials with visual, auditory and tactile properties makes for a more stimulating learning experience and allows students to achieve their potential.
My students benefit from participating in activities that help improve their motor skills and physical coordination as well as aid with balance.
My Project
The materials in this project contain all the manipulatives our students need to explore the properties of color and light while building math, language and science skills at the same time.
The plastic tubs filled with a huge variety of translucent plastic pieces—from letters and numbers to pattern blocks and color chips are great for use with students who have visual impairments.
All materials will help our students have practice with sorting, counting, measurements and making patterns. The sets come in a handy metal storage rack that will provide convenient access to the materials needed. Additionally, the magnetic sets will work very well for students that need assistance due to limited motor control.
