I am a third grade teacher in a very high needs elementary school in Missouri. I work with an amazing group of kids who try their hardest everyday. These students many times don't come to school with the needed school supplies.The teachers in my building have to spend large amounts of money every year to make sure the students have these basic supplies. Spending so much money on the students basic needs during the year leaves very little to provide fun and interactive tools that would really help our students.
This year my students are really struggling with math. Third grade is such a huge jump from what they have been expected to know in previous grades. I know that if I could involve my students more and make math hands on that they would be able to understand it better. The materials that I am asking for will give my students that spark that they need to succeed!
The items that I am asking for will really bring math to life for my students. I am asking for a hands on Geometry Mystery Box that will help my students to better understand geometry. I have asked for a complete set of measurement centers that gives students real life practice of all kinds of measurement. I know that these will be the tools that will help my students succeed this year. I want to make sure that when these students leave my classroom that they have a love for math.
