The students at our elementary school are bright and eager children. They are thriving in literacy based on the initiatives in place to ensure success. At this time, our focus for students in our school is to maintain and show growth in math. To do this, we must provide manipulatives and best practice strategies.
My Project
These math tools(abacus, activity set and math games) will be used in whole group and small group interventions in grades kindergarten through fourth. They build number sense and encourage mathematical thinking using a hands-on approach. Students will also be allowed to check out materials to use at home with parents for fun math game nights.
Students will be able to build numerical literacy every day by utilizing the tools in this project through small group instruction and partner game times.
Using these math tools will enhance math focus for students and teachers in grades kindergarten-fourth.
