My Students
I teach twenty eager-to-learn kindergarteners in a low socioeconomic school. More than half of my class receives free lunch.
My students show up every day excited to be at school and ready to learn.
Unfortunately, many of them do not have traditional learning materials at home that foster learning through creativity and play. I need your help updating the materials in my classroom. Due to economic strains, our classrooms are suffering. Without your help, it is impossible for me to purchase these things.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of math materials for my students, including magnetic base ten blocks, ten frames, numbers and counters for addition and subtraction, and place value activities. These materials will be used to teach specific math standards in small group and whole group lessons, as well as math centers for independent practice. Students love seeing me use the materials in whole group lessons, and then being able to use them in collaborative learning groups with a partner.
