My students depend on me to help them daily to succeed. I work at an inner-city school located in the heart of Tennessee. We take pride in our school, family, and community.
I love teaching, and I love to find innovative ideas to grow my children.
Many of my students consider the subject of math as really challenging. Therefore, I want to make math fun through interactive games. These games will allow students to learn at their very different levels.
When learning is fun, students are more intentional about focusing on skills that must be mastered. I would like to have a small math carnival for students to explore math concepts. (shapes, numbers, colors, money, etc.) This would be called "Math Mania Day." This day would be filled with food, games, and activities centered around thinking and fun. What an excellent way for children to adventure and learn at the same time.
Because hands on learning is important for students in preschool, challenging fun games will help them to learn math outside of the classroom.
Students will have an opportunity to use money for counting, hopscotch for identifying numbers, bowling for adding and subtracting, horseshoe for tallying points, geometry shapes for identifying shapes, etc. Students will stand on the sideline with ribbon sticks to cheer on their classmates. Students will be rewarded for their efforts by receiving treats. This will be a truly fun learning day!
