Math Makes Us Marvelous!
My students need the number line sets, ten frame dice, clocks and problem solving manipulatives and math equivalency puzzles to help them solidify math concepts and engage their learning.
Our students come from multiple countries, speak numerous languages, and have diverse families. But all our students work hard to learn and help each other. They have a wide range of reading levels, which makes learning some concepts harder, but we focus on reading development as the backbone for all lessons.
We also work with hands on manipulatives so students can develop stronger connections to math ideas taught.
Our community is supportive of our students and takes pride in our campus.
These supplies will allow us to make math exciting for students who may be skeptical of their math skills. The small clocks, math practice manipulatives and skill builders will allow students to work individually, with a partner and as a class. I also think having clear number lines will allow our students with limited math background the opportunity to develop number sense more efficiently. Having number lines that, they can practice at their desk to push concepts further. I also think the base ten cards are going to be an excellent asset to instruction almost instantly as the year starts.
