Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
MHS houses the Bilingual Program and services approximately 70 ELL students. Tutoring is offered to the student body, however the language barrier makes it difficult to understand the content.
The tutoring program was started to support those ELL students that need additional support in Mathematics.
It is offered every other Tuesday after school from 2-3 p.m.
We are offering tutoring services to all students in a comfortable setting. This will allow all students to connect with peers outside of their everyday classrooms.
My Project
As we know food is vital to student success and attention span, by providing these snack we are ensuring that are students are learning optimally.
Allowing them to work with another peer allows them to feel comfortable to share their weaknesses in the content being presented.
The healthy selections of granola bars will provide nourishment to both the tutors and their tutee's. They will get to enjoy them while engaging in learning existing and new math concepts. Your contribution allows the Math tutoring program to run smoothly by providing snacks for them while they are engaging in meaningful learning experiences.
