Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second grade scholars are very ambitious, and they love to learn new things. They are also adaptable learners, when they are introduced to new material they were willing to go the extra mile to master the learning tasks that I give them. I love coming to school each day with my scholars, because they are so affectionate. They are very loving and enjoy drawing me pictures in their free time or just giving me a simple hug.
I also love how persistent some of them are with a learning goal that they have not met.
They will ask questions for more clarity and even go home to practice even without me assigning it. The happiness and excitement that I see on their faces when they have achieved their learning goal is such a pleasing feeling.
My Project
I will be using the student clock dials to help my students with time telling. The individual clocks will aid in hands on learning. The fraction books, fraction tiles, and fraction dominoes will give my students different ways to show fractions with real world activities.
Time, money and fractions are a big part of everyday life, these materials will help ensure that they are successful in the future.
My students will benefit from using the multiplication and division flash cards by learning their multiplication and division facts. It is important for me to get my second graders ready for the third grade. My class will use the Money Bags Coin Value Game to identify value of money and how to count the money.
