My students come from diverse backgrounds. Many of them are immigrants, or children of immigrants. Our classroom feels more like a family, where we melt together in our love of learning.
Despite all the odds stacked against them, my students work hard and aspire to achieve great things in life.
I aim to give them every resource available to help them reach their goals! They often don't have the resources they need at home, so school is the place that they can be completely taken care of.
My Project
Please consider purchasing some math manipulatives for my second grade class. They learn many new concepts in second grade and these manipulatives will help make math hands on. These will allow the students to make more of a connection with math, and become more proficient in the process.
Most of my students speak English as a second language, and having hands on tools lets them make a stronger connection with our math vocabulary.
We will use these tools in small group and students will use them independently to gain knowledge in math. This will help students become more proficient and gain self confidence in their math skills.
