Every year, I am blessed with a wonderful group of diverse students. We have a fantastic year full of teamwork, hands-on learning, and skill building. I say at the end of the year that it can't get any better than that one.
I want to be able to go above and beyond for these precious students.
Although our parents are wonderful supporters, they are unable to give more than the supplies and materials requested at the beginning of the year. Being a Title I school, we have some additional resources but could use all the extra help we can get. I would love to make their learning experiences bigger and better than imaginable when they walk through my door.
My Project
We would love to refresh the math manipulatives that we currently have, by adding new and engaging activities to our rotations. We have been using our current ones for quite some time, so they are well loved but also not as captivating as they once were.
With these additional items, we will be able to focus in on fact fluency through a variety of ways.
We will also incorporate other skills such as time and money in our practice. Whether it is through building blocks, electronic pens, flash cards or more, we want to have the chance to master our skills. Repetitive practice through a mix of means is the best way we can accomplish this.
