Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is a diverse group of boys and girls from a number of religious and cultural backgrounds. Many of my students are multi-lingual and most come from financially struggling families. A number of my students have already seen trauma in their short lives, so school is a safe, routine place for them to learn and grow and to be loved.
Their strength and determination are inspiring.
I want to harness these fantastic qualities into creating strong, problem-solving students!
My 2nd-grade classroom is filled with students of all ability and levels. In any classroom, it is extremely important that I know and teach to all the levels in my classroom.
My Project
What is one of the best ways to learn? Through fun engaging play! Working with small groups is imperative to giving students a more personalized education. What students are doing independently is just as important. These games will reinforce all the math concepts! These folders and stations will help my students work independently and with partners on important math skills. With these new math folders and games, my students will be able to choose from a variety of activities that will allow them to practice independently at their own learning level. I have included activities below and above grade level.
