Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is my second year teaching at this rural school in Texas. There are 283 seventh graders just itching to take advantage of our new technology offerings. Many of the classrooms were fitted with new Smart projectors and now is the time to start embracing technology!
Technology makes learning fun!
Students love to use their devices to explore new concepts. By donating to our project, you will help me to ensure that all students have the opportunity to use technology to advance their learning options.
My Project
In my class, students take learning home by accessing my videos on YouTube. This provides extra time in class for activities and projects to make learning more engaging. This doesn’t work for everyone, as sometimes WiFi is unavailable. Having these tablets in the classroom will allow all students to have access to learning videos. In addition, learning games (such as Kahoot!) can be played in class on these devices for students who do not own a cell phone. Multiple students can play on one tablet. I believe having these Amazon Fire tablets available in class will encourage students to embrace math and technology.
