Math Live on a Touch Screen!

Help me give my students the ability to see my math lessons on a touch screen. As we transition to this new normal of teaching online I need to write on the screen directly to truly teach math!

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is a Title I school with 100% percent receiving free breakfast and free lunch.

My students love a challenge and they are resilient.

Although many of them face adversity they are being taught to look for the silver lining and to never give up. They fight through the hard times and emerge stronger, better, wiser for their experiences.

I really care for my students and their future. I plan to show them the pathway to college! My school is 98% African American and we are pushing forward to be greater than anyone has ever expected!

My Project

As I transition to this new way of virtual teaching I need to make my math lessons come to life for my students. I have tried the virtual white boards and it's very hard to use and write numbers with a mouse. I am unable to draw complete shapes neatly with the mouse.

But with the Surface Pro, I'm sure I will be more precise in drawing my shapes and solving equations in real time without having to use a powerpoint or just typing in the numbers which seem less authentic.

I'm very excited about the real possibility of sharing this new technology with my students. When they call me from home and need help I am readily available to demonstrate and model the lesson for them directly on the screen!
