Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hardworking, enthusiastic and dedicated students. They are always eager to begin their school day and learn something new. They attend a Title I school and come from a low-income household. My students enjoy learning through various styles such as, visual, aural, verbal, logical and physical. My students need manipulatives to help engage their eager minds. My class likes hands on activities and I strongly believe they will benefit from the hands on activities.
I want to prepare our new generation to become engaged thinkers, self driven, ethical citizens, technologically literate and college and career ready.
My vision is for all students to learn and thrive in an academically rigorous environment.
My Project
This project will grant my students the opportunity to explore 4th grade math concepts using manipulatives. Integrating manipulatives into my lessons will provide my students a chance to get a hands on experience. The math manipulatives will also provide a visual, which will enhance the learning experience for my visual and kinetics learners. My students will use the math manipulatives to truly master and understand the math concepts.
The supplies requested will improve my students lives by allowing them to explore math in a distinctive and entertaining approach.
The fraction activity and factor triangles will facilitate the concept of understanding fractions and multiplication. The place value game and dry erase boards will help students review common math standards. I believe that the integration of manipulatives will automatically increase students interest and make them eager to review or learn a new math concept.
