Math It Forward: Creating Videos for Student Success
Help me give my students an iPad Pro, Otter Box ,and Apple Care plan so they can "Math it Forward" and create videos that solve problems on the ACT, SAT, and PSAT that will assist future students.
Our students are AMAZING! I teach at a magnet school for gifted and high-achieving students. We serve students in grades 6-12 from throughout our district. Students test for admission and most students are functioning above the 90th percentile. All students are working at least one grade level above their actual age. The students in my school are a true melting pot of nationalities, religions, and economic levels but the common trait that they have is the love of being challenged and learning new things. My students challenge each other, and me, to learn more and do their very best, both in and out of the classroom!
My Project
Every student at our school will eventually take college standardized tests: ACT, SAT, and PSAT. I want to provide videos that will assist my students with taking the Math and Science portions of this test without the need of expensive tutors. My students will require an iPad to run the video software, an Otter Box to ensure its safety, and a warranty to keep everything functioning for the future.
With these materials, every student at our school will be able to work autonomously on the Math and Science sections of the ACT, SAT, and PSAT.
More importantly these videos will be created not only by teachers but also by students who want to "Math it Forward" and help future students.
