My Students
My students have a hard life and worry about things that they shouldn't at their age. Our school has 99% of students who receive free breakfast and lunch, some of which they keep to eat at home. Many of the students live in the projects right across the street from our school. Most only have a one parent household. I try to do the most I can for my kiddos, but it's hard to do on a teacher's salary. I love my kids because even though they go through so much, they have the biggest hearts.
My Project
Students have a better understand of things when they have hands-on experiences.
Having hands-on manipulatives and games, the students will have a fun time learning.
The whiteboards will be a great addition to have them solve addition/subtractions problems using different strategies. With the big stamps of math subjects like clocks, the students will be able to create times and challenge each other on what the time is. The fishing game and dice games for addition and subtraction will not only help them with their math facts but social skills of taking turns with who they are playing with. All of these items will help my students succeed in understanding math standards.
