Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school was founded two years ago with 170, 9th graders. We have now grown to 9th, 10th and 11th graders who are filled with joy and pride for our school. Our students are building a school and creating a legacy. In our school's first year, our students crushed our state standardized tests - with 92% scoring either a "Good" or "Excellent" - placing our school as the top performing open-enrollment charter school in New Orleans. Our students prove day in and day out that they will not only all graduate from college but will also lead the world.

My students are the hardest working people I know.

They come to school each and every day truly invested in their education and taking advantage of each minute of instruction. They deserve the best that our education system has to offer.

My Project

Help put accommodations in the hands of high school students in special education in New Orleans. Every day my students will be able to access the curriculum in their classes because they have the tools they need to be successful. Our students are on a mission to graduate from college and lead the world- these Chromebooks will put them on the path to achieving that goal.

The students are on a mission to grow more than two grade levels in reading and math this year.

In order to achieve this goal, we need to ensure our students have the accommodations they require to be successful in all their classes.

We are committed to serve every scholar and their unique learning needs. Your donation to this project will provide them with the technology they need to achieve their goals by allowing them access to math skills beyond basic computation. In order to build a love of learning and an enjoyment and passion for all their classes, my students need to be able to have access to the accommodations they require. This project will put calculators in the hands of some of the hardest working high schoolers who need them.
