My students need hands-on materials to aid in their new Common Core State Standards, such as Read About Math Learning Centers, Help-Yourself Multilevel Math Centers, Build and Learn Geometry Kit, How Did You Solve It? Common Core Activity Cards, At-My-Seat Math Games Library, and Math Start Stories.
My students love math. We have to print out our materials and the students say, OH NO NOT ANOTHER WORKSHEET! These activities are colorful and fun. My students will be wowed and engaged on learning with new materials in the class room. Common Core is here! Help me introduce our new state standards.
My students are literally incredible.
They are from low income households and some of them only smile when they reach my front door. I'm so excited to see them willing and ready to learn. I do everything but stand on my head for them and they are excited.
My students want to learn, and they work so hard. Sometimes it's a struggle adding, subtracting, multiplying, and that is only the beginning. I never give up, and I always tell them practice, practice, practice. Practice makes perfect! They quote that daily when I say out loud, "What does practice make?" and they shout back, "PERFECT." I believe it and I know they do to. No matter their daily home struggles I want to bring them a new world. Help me engage my students to become anything and everything they want to be.
My Project
Math Common Core Activity Centers is what I am needing in my classroom to help engage my students into a new world of math. Anything we can do to actively engage a child is our job to do it. I choose numerous center activities to help them work together and enjoy learning.
Math is everywhere and also in books. The math books are incredible. My students can learn real math by reading a colorful rich text that will aid in their understanding of math being a part of their everyday life. I teach all level math students from 1st-5th grade level children. I need a variety of learning centers to aid in a differentiated learning environment. This project is extremely important.
Our National Common Core Standards are 2 grades above what these students are used to. Everything is new and difficult. The tests are amazingly hard, and I work every day coming up with new ideas to present math to my students. This is my goal, to make sure when my students enter the 4th grade they are more than ready. Please help me engage these children to learn with a smile.
