This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students were learning math online without the use of class manipulatives which has left some gaps in their conceptual understanding of math. As the math interventionist, I travel around to classes K-6 reinforcing math concepts to struggling students. These math manipulative kits will allow each student to have access to these hands-on activities.

Students learn math by beginning with concrete understanding and working towards abstract understanding.

These manipulatives will give concrete understanding to each learner. Math is also more engaging and fun when you can learn kinesthetically and visually!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
