Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a rural farming community in Washington state. Our school is a Title I high migrant school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students also come from areas of high crime, yet come to school ready to learn.
My classroom is always full of eager learners who aren't afraid of hard work.
Although many of my students come from difficult home lives, they continue to come to school and persevere. They work very hard to grow academically and socially. They take a lot of pride in their achievements and are truly my inspiration!
My Project
My students need math folder games for independent work time. They also need batteries to make use of their Power Up pens that are used during independent work time.
Independent work time is an extremely important part of our school day; therefore, engaging materials that can be made use of during this time is very important.
Being that I have 82 students throughout the day, it is necessary that they can learn independently at times. The folders games will do just that. They are fun, colorful, and self-correcting, making them perfect for use independently.
It is always crucial to make the best use of every part of the school day. This includes independent work time. This project would greatly enhance this time for my students.
