My students need hands-on experiences in math. Volume Cubes, Write & Wipe Number Lines, and a Build & Learn Volume kit will help to bring core math concepts to light for a child who might be struggling with a concept.
My students are excited to learn and love to use technology to enhance their learning and research skills. They like to learn about new places and people throughout the world to make connections to their own lives.
Math is visual.
Math needs to be hands on.
My students struggle with number concept and understanding how the numbers relate to one another. Fractions and volume are very abstract concepts. Students develop a deeper understanding through exploration and by manipulating hands-on materials.
My Project
Math is a sore "subject" for many students. They may have never realized how math can actually be much easier once you learn to visualize things. With hands-on math manipulative and tasks, students can explore the difficult standards that may not relate to their everyday life at their age.
Math needs to be more visual and hands-on exploration.
When students can manipulate items they create a more solid background and understanding of a concept. My goal is to help visual learners to have a deeper understanding of math. Imagine if you could use real cubes to understand what physically makes up the volume of a prism. This is much more useful than just memorizing a formula. Hands-on equals more retention of a skill. The volume kit provides activities to complete using the volume cubes.
The write and wipe number lines will allow students to have a visual representation they can create to help identify if a fraction is greater than, less than, or equal to another fraction.
