This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I School, and almost seventy percent receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a magnet school which requires most students to maintain a B average throughout the year. The students are part of Pre-Med, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Computer Technology programs.
Our students come from the diverse backgrounds of 30 different countries.
This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.
My Project
In our classroom we are always trying to incorporate the arts into what we do. My students love to do Math Videos and skits. We work extra hard on these performances but really have very few items to make them look legitimate. If we had some stage lighting, curtains, and microphophones we would be able to tape our professional performancs and share them with other students in different classrooms. We will also be able to use these resources for our afterschool club that does video production. It is important to tie in our curriculum to the arts and this is a fun way to do it.
