This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a high poverty school in a Moderate and Severe Disabilities (MSD) self-contained classroom. My students have various disabilities (e.g., autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities) that create difficulties in their daily lives. Despite many hardships, my students come to school ready to learn each day.
My students require a lot of educational supports but are capable of so much, and they are working hard each day to find new and creative ways to learn academic standards and daily life skills.
My students love to dance, sing, go outside, and play on the computer.
My Project
This project includes engaging activities that focus on various math topics that will help students increase their financial literacy skills.
From money to number identification to counting, this project is filled with various activities to help keep the interest of all students in my classroom.
Students in my classroom benefit from engaging and hands-on activities to learn new skills.
Financial literacy is an important life skill that all students must have. These math activities will help provide my students with the pre-requisite skills they need to become financial literate! The first step to becoming financially literate, which is an important life skill, it by expanding basic math skills! These hands on activities will help my students to do just that!
