Help me give my students a storage unit, and math games to practice various skills, including Splat!, Bingo, and 24 Game, to allow me to make learning more fun!
My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom every day. Despite these challenges, I try to provide my students with engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Learning should be fun and my students should enjoy it!
My students are kind, clever, caring, and very funny people!
They love to make others laugh, and they really enjoy making each other feel good about themselves. They always try to look at the positives rather than the negatives they have in their lives. Many of them receive free or reduced rate lunches based on their socioeconomic status. I want to give them as many opportunities as possible to help them get ahead in life, rather than constantly falling behind because of their lack of resources. I want to show them that they have people on their side in life and that being kind and giving to others are some of the best things you can do.
My Project
It can take a lot to get fourth graders interested and engaged with math. Many of them struggle with making sense of numbers and I think that by using games to practice key skills, they will be able to make more connections with the materials. These games can be used as review lessons, used during free time, and as quick practice when we have a few minutes left of class.
Math should be more hands-on rather than just paper and pencil.
Kids love games and I hope by using these materials, my students will grow with their confidence in math skills and increase their understanding of these math concepts.
