Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Despite so many hardships, my students come in each day eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
I teach special education students in grades kindergarten through third.
Our school is in an inner city in Arizona. All students in our school receive free breakfast, snack, and lunch. Our students are very sweet and polite. Many of them come from troubled backgrounds, and many students move frequently.
My Project
I am a special education teacher for kindergarten-third grade students. Many of my students struggle with math. They find it hard, and often get frustrated. Students need something to keep them engaged.
These file folder games will make math more engaging for them.
Students will often try harder during a game, rather than a traditional lesson. These file folder games can also serve as a reward for students. They can work on these games while waiting for other classmates to finish their work.
These file folder games will last for years to come, and help many different students not only this year but for many years.
