Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are absolutely amazing! Everyday in class, they are so eager to learn and really push themselves to go further.
Our students come from low income socioeconomic backgrounds.
Many are English learners receiving free or reduced price lunch and come from challenging home lives. We have limited parent/community support. We have a positive and safe environment and together, we feel like a big family. My students are truly the best students! They come to school ready to learn everyday and really commit themselves to strive for the best.
My Project
These math manipulatives will help my students to a great extent. We have very few math manipulatives available and my students need tangible tools to learn. These new materials would engage students in their daily math instruction. They will be used in whole class, small group instruction and during independent work. These tools will reinforce their math instruction through engaging manipulatives and activities like ten frames, pattern cards and stampers.
Students all learn in various ways and I have many students who learn through hands-on application.
Math is a skill that every student obviously needs. These manipulatives will help shape my students for the rest of their lives. These manipulatives can change how my students learn and teach them new ways of problem solving. I thank you in advance for helping change the lives of my students, who truly would appreciate these materials.
