My students come into the classroom with curiosity. The students are very curious about the world around them and they want to have something to contribute. Each of the students have their own voice, strengths and ideas.
The students come from a mix of various backgrounds, including many ESL students.
Coming into second grade, the students going from being "little kids" to "big kids". They are learning to be independent, to problem-solve, to apply their own learning and to care for one another.
My Project
These resources are hands-on tools for my students to improve their math skills. The centers, kits, dice and games will be used in Math Centers and for group work when students are done with their math lessons. These will be used on a daily basis to help boost mathematical concepts.
Students need more than paper/pencil learning; they need a fun, hands-on approach.
These games and tools are fun, engaging and allow the students to learn math skills in an independent way while I work with a small group. I've chosen these specific tools and games because they align with the curriculum my class is learning.
