Help me give my students materials to engage and support my students! As a teacher, my goal is to provide students with varying ways to participate in class.
My Math 1, 2, and 3 9th grade students are excited to be closing out their first year as high schoolers! At Lab, we empower our students with the skills and mindset they need to grow into the thinkers, creators, and innovators of tomorrow. Our school intentionally mirrors the economic and diverse make-up of the city of Charlotte. My students love exploring new ideas and I am teaching them about effectively using technology to learn math and apply mathematical ideas to the real world.
My Project
Every student is unique and therefore needs personalized forms of participating in class. My goal is to support all students to openly engage and participate in math content. One favorite form of participation from my students has been individual whiteboards. This method allows students to use something other than a pencil and paper to participate and show their learning and they love it! Personalized note packets, large sticky notes, and colored paper all provide for the personalized learning environment I seek to create for my students.
Calculators are a must in math courses at this time!
In order to offer calculators, they have to function and therefore need batteries as well as a strong supply of batteries so no student is ever left without one.
