Math Fact Fluency Fun

Help me give my students fun games to practice their math fact fluency.

My Students

My class is comprised of first graders. Many of them come from bilingual and low-income homes. Free breakfast and lunch are provided for all students. We have a district program to help supply basic supplies to our most needy students, such as clothing, glasses, backpacks, and school supplies.

Our school has an excellent reputation due to the commitment of the staff and parents to provide the best education possible for the students.

This year, we will be living through a lot of firsts in the classroom, just as we are in all areas of life. Giving students the tools they need to make learning fun will help them stay engaged and focused and help keep worries at bay.

My Project

Having a strong grasp of addition and subtraction facts helps students master the next steps in math. Repeated practice of these skills builds fluency and confidence.

Putting math fact practice in the form of a game turns a 'have to' job into a 'get to' activity.

Kids ask to practice their math facts if it is in the form of a fun and engaging game.

Having these games in the classroom will allow students to play games each day that will help build their math fact fluency while having fun.
