My students come from all walks of life. Some come from a traditional family and others from single parents to foster parents. From what I know of last year's 6th graders, they are young, yet eager to learn. The students in our district are curious learners. Not every student has access at home to the same support in math. Sometimes the classroom is the only place they can get help.
Some of them have lots of energy and having engaging lessons for them is important.
I work in a great district with wonderful students who would love to be engaged by Math Escapes. Math is a subject that many students struggle with. Having a way to excite students in their learning and have them engaged is important. As teachers we need to prepare them for the unknown.
My Project
Math Escapes is a subscription that I've purchased for my class. It involves teamwork and problem solving skills, which are key skills for the workforce in the 21st century. I am hoping this will bring new life into the math class.
Math Escapes is a learning tool that has 8 different challenges.
Using teamwork and problem solving strategies, students have to come up with the code to unlock the locks on the boxes.
I am seeking funding for the following items.
The items needed times five (for five groupings) are one Lockout Hasp, four 4-digit locks, one 3 digit lock, one storage box with place for the lockout hasp, and two Alpha Locks.
