Mr. Ross from Decatur GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 2 iPad's because they need help with math skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
An added piece of technology will help to engage my students, encourages them to explore learning through a different lenses and build on math computation and reading skills.
My classroom consists of students with multiple disabilities, students undiagnosed and students without disabilities growing up in a high poverty area.
These students lack the resources at home to develop and reinforce the academic skills learned at school. Having the necessary resources inside of the classroom to build on all of my students' cognitive, motor and communication skills is very important. The iPad will be used to help my students develop and increase their attention span, engage them in math lessons and expose them to a fun, captivating, differentiated lessons.
With the iPads, students will be able to access the technology and programs that have been proven to increase academic success. The iPads will provide them with options to learn math in a format that is attractive to them and allows them to achieve the desired learning outcome.
With added technology, combined with the scaffolding of adults and peers, my students will become more perceptive.
The iPads will allow them to achieve academic success in math and other subjects aiding in successfully competition in a global economy later in life. In addition, it will provide them with options to learn subject matter in a different format. The materials requested will be used to help aid in my instruction, build on students communication, social skills, and increase attention.
