Help me give my students 3 sets of string lights as well as 6 clamp lights and light bulbs so students can see the board and their paper at the same time!
My students' needs vary significantly. Educationally, in the same class, I teach students on the opposite ends of the special education spectrum. Environmentally, about 40% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. There are many challenges to overcome when teaching such a diverse population of students.
My students arrive in my classroom everyday ready to learn.
It is truly an honor teach such an amazing group of students. They are so willing to help each other learn. I do my best to give them as many opportunities to grow and excel as I can.
My Project
My project, Math Class is Lit, focuses on filling a very specific need in my classroom, lighting. I have two big windows in my classroom which is wonderful, most of the time. Often times the glare from the sun obscures the board and my students are unable to see the board with the overhead lights on. However, with the overhead lights off the classroom is too dark to learn.
If my students cannot see, they cannot learn.
The plan is to use the lights I will purchase to light up my classroom instead of the overhead lights so students can see their activities without the glare of the sun on the whiteboard.
