My Students
We are an urban middle school located in a low-income area of Texas. Our young people are very eager to learn, very loving and respectful. We have our challenges as most do but they try hard to please the adults and be respectful of themselves and others.
Our diverse community requires flexibility in our thoughts and actions.
We are very proud of our young people and strive for excellence daily by intentionally striving to make tomorrow better than our today.
My Project
Given the tablets and headphones, our scholars will have the opportunity to challenge themselves by learning the skills they struggle with the most and make gains in learning. By learning and mastering these skills this will give our scholars the self confidence they need to continue their learning process and make them feel more comfortable in their classrooms with their peers.
Once they learn the skills through the use of additional teacher support and these additional tools they will feel less defeated and more motivated to be challenged in the classroom.
The will also feel more confident in being successful in the math that once defeated them.
