My Students

My students are in a low-income area, so parents work a lot in order to support them. It is difficult for parents to take time off to be in the school, but they offer up as much support as they can.

Our teachers work so hard to provide for our students by providing meals, supplies, and engaging, creative learning experiences for their students.

I chose to work here to help improve student learning across a whole school and help support teachers improve their practice.

My Project

The students at my school are struggling with math, especially problem solving. I am creating a weekly math challenge for students. The books requested will help with creating the weekly challenge by providing deep thinking problem solving questions. The manipulatives requested will be used for modeling how to solve problems and will be for students to use to help them solve problems. The Cricut and the supplies that go with it will go towards creating bulletin boards, stickers, and t-shirts that will use to motivate students to participate in the math challenges.
