Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Most of our students come from low income families and live in project housing. Unfortunately, most do not have both parents living at home which puts a financial burden on the families.
Social scientist's have found that children growing up in single-parent families are disadvantaged in other ways when compared to a two-biological-parent families.
Many of these problems are directly related to the poor economic condition of single-parent families, not just to parenting style. These children are at risk and need extra support.
My Project
The peg boards and counting links can help children practice number association and counting. With these resources , children can also develop their fine motor skills.
I would greatly appreciate the write and wipe markers and the giant visual model chart .
It is magnetic so I could conveniently stick it to my white board. This will allow me to model the whole class how to use ten frames, number bonds and number lines.
Students can practice solving tons of problems with me using their own ten frames and counters kit and use it during their independent or group assignments.
I would be very thankful if you could help me start my math centers for the upcoming school year.
