My students need a Math Cart filled with a class set of whiteboards, markers, Math Dictionaries and many manipulatives to help aid them in learning math.
My fifth graders come in with a lot of energy every day. Each student has their own very colorful personality this year. With their bright colors comes very different learning styles which can be hard to match if you don't have the supplies in your room.
With students this caring, I want to be able to provide the materials they need and deserve since it is difficult for most of them to afford the bare minimum.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and should have equal opportunity to reach the learning goals put forth.
My Project
This project is so important for my students who have a difficult time purchasing school materials.
The idea of this Math Cart will have all of the mathematic materials they will need and to have them be readily available at all times.
In order for this project to work, it is important that we have a cart and a class set of whiteboards just to begin. On top of this, students need to have math dictionaries and many forms of manipulatives to help aid students. This would include calculators, fraction tiles, dice, timers, and flashcards.
This cart will help current students and future ones to come. Since these materials will last, the upkeep on this project can be easily done out of my pocket once it gets funded.
