We are teaching math students at a suburban high school where almost 50% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
Not all of these students can afford the technology such as calculators for their math and science classes.
We want these students to practice using these graphing calculators daily before they use them on state-mandated achievement tests, Advance Placement tests, or the ACT/SAT.
Your support would help students do well in math and science classes and on their tests.
My Project
Supplies like scissors, graph paper, markers, correction tape, colored pencils, and staples will be used in math class for students to work in groups and allow for creativity.
Math teachers when armed with the proper supplies can make math beautiful and fun!
Colored pencils and markers can be used to differentiate between different functions, scissors to allow students to create shapes and charts, and graph paper can allow displaying data and findings to stay organized while being creative.
As class size increase it is important to keep students engaged and art supplies allow students to display work and communicate about mathematics through verbal, written, and pictorial representations.
