Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The way we prepare our students needs an upgrade. Our youth needs to learn in a setting that supports this technological world and their future.
My students deserve a way to learn that is interactive, prepares them for the outside world, teaches them to problem solve, and helps them learn more at their own pace.
Living in an urban setting gives them limited access to resources without the help of donors like you. We need our students to be able to access help for learning in ways that motivate, captivate and prepares them to be successful.
Our school is in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, and serves a culturally mixed student body of unique and dedicated students from various ethnicities.
My students need more tools for practicing math with amazing Internet based programs, for completing research with projects, and for all to have access at the same time. Please help me prepare our future leaders!
My Project
My students are hard working, love using technology in the classroom when available, and deserve a learning environment that suits their technology based lifestyles.
My classroom goal is for every student to be able to use a device on a daily basis to practice their math fluency with research based programs the school has purchased, to continue working on their problem solving skills by practicing word problems, and be able to prepare for presentations using Google applications.
Until my English Language Learners become more comfortable with learning English, they will also benefit from these Chromebooks to access translation applications and learn math in their home language.
These computers will allow me to work with smaller guided groups to learn harder concepts, while others in the room can work on the Internet based programs, individual work, or practice online assessment.
Having the charging station will also allow for safekeeping of this investment and the mice will allow for easier navigation.
